Levies

On April 1, 2017 a new Levy Order called the Registration and Cattle Levies Marketing Order came into effect (see page 336 of the Royal Gazette). This Order applies to the registration of persons engaged in the production or marketing of cattle in the Province of Prince Edward Island and the fixing, imposing and collecting of the levies payable by such persons. Effective immediately, a $6.00 levy plus HST must be collected and remitted to the PEI Cattle Producers on every animal that is sold.

Authorisation for this Order has been granted under the Natural Producers Marketing Act and the Cattle Marketing Board Regulations.
